When is a Store Owner More Than Just a Store Owner?

For instance, Idrish Vohra of Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, provides a monthly breakfast to a local retirement community. Gunu Singh of Northridge, California, supplies refreshments to her local city council meetings. And a group of 7-Eleven Franchisees in Culver City, California, hosts a local Little League Picture Day where players and parents are treated to snacks and juice. These are just a few of the countless ways Franchisees give back to their communities.

Of course, joining the 7-Eleven family means you’re really part of two communities: your local neighborhood and 7-Eleven’s national efforts. Earlier this year, 7-Eleven joined the American Red Cross Disaster Responder program. Members of the program include leading corporations that donate a minimum of $250,000 annually to provide the highest level of support to American Red Cross preparedness and relief efforts. Year-round support from 7-Eleven helps ensure the Red Cross can act immediately when disasters occur.

When Hurricane Florence devastated the Carolina coasts last month, 7-Eleven stores in and near the hurricane evacuation areas brought in extra truckloads of supplies to help residents. 7-Eleven EVP and COO Chris Tanco explains:
